Structural stability is a field of mechanics that studies the behavior of structures under compression. When a structure is subjected to a sufficiently high compressive force (or stress), it has a tendency to lose its stiffness, experience a noticeably change in geometry, and become unstable.
Stability is the ability of a structure to maintain, or regain, a stable (balanced) position when external forces act on it.
The Leader SENTRY is a stability controller which can be used to monitor an unstable structure and warn of the imminent risk of collapse of a nearby building or building where SAR teams are working (rescuers, firefighters, emergency workers, doctors, etc.).
