Fourier transform infrared spectroscopy (FTIR) is a technique used to obtain infrared spectrum based on the amount of absorption or transmittance of IR in a sample. FTIR is frequently used in a wide range of structural analysis and non-destructive measurement applications.

Attenuated total reflection (ATR) is a powerful sampling method that allows the direct measurement of samples for FTIR. ATR method involves pressing the sample against a high-refractive-index prism and measuring the infrared spectrum using infrared light that is totally internally reflected in the prism. It allows direct examination of solid or liquid samples without extensive preparation.
KBr pellet method (KBr) is a method involves mixing the sample with KBr powder, forming it into a pellet, and measuring the infrared spectrum. It is the basic measurement method for powder samples.
