A microplate reader detects light signals produced within a specific wavelength range by samples that have been pipetted into a plate. The optical properties of these samples are the result of a biological, chemical, biochemical, or physical reaction. Bio-Tek’s Automated Microplate Reader is an eight-channel reader-assay system for in vitro diagnostic and research use. The reader can serve as a stand-alone system, or can be controlled via PC-based software.
Designed to automatically perform endpoint and kinetic analysis, the reader can measure the optical density of solutions in 96-well microplates between 380 nm and 900 nm. (The UV option measures down to 340 nm). Have 6-position filter wheel (now have 2 only which are 450 nm and 540 nm).
