Analytical chemistry technique that combines the physical separation capabilities of liquid chromatography (or HPLC) with the mass analysis capabilities of mass spectrometry (MS).
1. We will open the booking slots quarterly. We will notify students when the slots open each quarter.
· January - March 2025
· April - June 2025
· July - September 2025
· October - December 2025
2. We will reserve the last week of each month for paid sample or PPM.
3. We will have week 4 off to allow for paid sample and maintenance. However, if its not needed, staff will open it to everyone by Thursday evening of week 3 at the latest. It will be based on a first-come, first-served basis.
4. The slots will not be available over the weekend.
5. Equipment will be turned on every Monday morning at 8.00 AM.
6. Maintenance for the LCMS will be done by Friday at 4.00 PM.
7. Students must strictly notify staff if they are passing their bookings to other students.
8. Student cannot booking the slot on behalf of others.
9. For non-USM students, you may contact the person in charge to discuss booking slot and arrangements to use the equipment.
Liquid Chromatography Mass Spectrometry (LCMS) is a powerful analytical technique for separation, identification and quantification of both unknown and known compounds as well as to elucidate the structure and chemical properties of different molecules.
